Mr. Forrest Lafonn Minor, 66, of 1008 Suncrest Avenue, Statesville, N.C., passed away on Monday, August 10, 2020, at his residence. He was born in Iredell County on June 18, 1954, and was the son of the late Eugene Minor and Lorene Gray Minor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Ann Moore, and one brother, Jerry Minor. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Denny Minor, who survives.

He attended Morningside High School and at one time was employed by Merchant Metals. He was a gifted musician and guitar player and worked through various churches, including New Life Missionary Baptist Church.

He leaves to cherish the memory of his life, in addition to his wife, Carolyn Minor, four step-children, Detria Denny, Anitra Denny and Adrian Lowery, all of Mooresville, N.C., and Joe Lowery of Charlotte; his siblings, Doris Joyce, Shirley McClain, Ken Minor and Roy A. Minor, all of Statesville, and Sylvia Minor of High Point; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Steve Denny, Marion Denny and Alfreda Conner, all of Mooresville; this grandchildren, Deante Denay, Jekarre Jones, Alieana Lowery, Joshua Lowery, Adrian Lowery Jr., Adriana Lowery and Xavier Hoyle; several great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Saturday, August 15, 2020, at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home at 1 p.m.

There will be no public visitation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home, along with other funeral homes across the country, has been issued a mandate to limit the number of family and/or friends at funeral services. You can only enter the funeral with a funeral pass, which will be given to the family.
