Mr. Henry Franklyn Nesbit, 75, of Statesville, N.C., son of the late Jennie Mae Nesbit, was born in Iredell County on January 15, 1945. He departed this life on December 16, 2020.

Mr. Nesbit was a 1963 graduate of Morningside High School and prior to his retirement he was employed by Fiber Industries as a Spindraw Coordinator. He was also employed by Adams Taxi. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army, where he served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of Gray’s Chapel United Church of Christ, where he sang with the Men’s Choir. Frank had a beautiful singing voice and enjoyed singing. He also loved spending time with family and friends. He was married to Brenda Lackey Nesbit, who survives.

In addition to his wife, he leaves to cherish the memory of his life a son, Shawn (Stephanie) Nesbit of Charlotte; a daughter, Paula (Reverend Dale) White of Statesville; a sister, Bertha Nesbit of Memphis, Tenn.; a brother, Ronald Nesbit of Statesville; a grandson, Zion White; a granddaughter, Camryn Nesbit; an adopted granddaughter, Madison Lackey; a God granddaughter, Anya Huey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Celebration Services will be conducted on Sunday, December 20, 2020, at 11 a.m. at The Mary B. Bigham Memorial Chapel, Rutledge & Bigham Funeral Home, Revered Dale White will Officiate. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Gray’s Chapel Church, in memory of Frank Nesbit’s honor.

There will be no public visitation due to COVID-19. You can only enter the funeral with a funeral pass, which will be given to the family.

A general public viewing will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2020, from 4 until 6:30 p.m. and resume Sunday, December 20, 2020, from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour. You can also view Mr. Nesbit’s remains virtually on-line at www.youtube.com (Search Frank Nesbit Viewing).
