Ms. Cora Lauree Redmon was born in Iredell County on October 18, 1934. She was also known as Cora Lauree and Dimp, and was the daughter of the late Enos and Elvie Lacky Redmon. She departed this life on Sunday, November 28, 2021, at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, N.C. She was a patient at the Mill Creek Manor Assisted Living Center for nine years.

She was a 1954 graduate of Unity High School and worked as a housekeeper for many families in the Harmony area. She never married, but was a babysitter for most of her nieces and nephews. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church until her health began to fail her.

Beside her parents, Enos and Elvie Redmon, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Steele and Aslee Dalton; six brothers, Harry, Bobby, Alfred, Oliver, Enos Ronald, and John Redmon; and several aunts and uncles.

She leaves to cherish the memory of her life one brother, Gilbert (Ruthie Mae) Redmon; three sisters, Mary Steele of Statesville, and Beatrice Dalton and Sandra Houston, both of Harmony, N.C.; a brother-in-law, Clarence Steele of Statesville; several nieces, nephews, cousins, her church family, Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 12 noon at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Harmony. Reverend Sylvester Reed Jr., Pastor, will eulogize and Reverend Christopher Steele will officiate. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Ms. Redmon will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home until taken to the church to lie in state at 11 a.m. Members of the family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 12 noon.
