Elaine Danner Evans, 77, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021. She was born on December 7, 1943, in Avery County, N.C., to the late John and Goldie Gragg Danner.

Elaine was a lifelong member of Vanderburg United Methodist Church in Mooresville, where she served in numerous roles, including Sunday School teacher. Elaine was employed for many years as a Registered Nurse, most recently with Dr. Stephen Ferguson at Mooresville Internal Medicine. She enjoyed time reading, camping, and traveling by RV and motorcycle, and spent many weeks in retirement traversing the countryside with Adrian and their pets. She was also quite the craftsperson, using her talents to knit and sew and even learned to weave baskets later in life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Adrian Alexander Evans; brother, Steve Danner; and infant daughter, Leah Marie.

Elaine is survived by her children, Jeff Evans and Kelly McMillan (Ron); brother, John Danner Jr. (Sammie); grandchildren, Jessica, Jon, Marcus, Morgan, and Rachel; great grandchild, Alex; special family friend, Libby Lowder; and her beloved cat, Annie.

Elaine’s life will be celebrated at a private family graveside service to be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Vanderburg United Methodist Church with Pastor Melanie T. Nichols officiating.
