Joyce Ervin Caldwell, 84, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on January 23, 2021, after battling cancer for over twelve years. She was born on June 20, 1936, in Cabarrus County, N.C., to the late Fred and Hazel Nance Ervin.

Mrs. Caldwell has been a faithful member of Fair View United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She was a wonderful cook and avid reader. Mrs. Caldwell was very family and church oriented. She always enjoyed time with her church lunch group. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and caretaker. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her sister, Bonnie Chandgie.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Nolan Caldwell; daughters, Debbie Pittard (Jed), and Patty Clontz (Jamie); son, Mike Caldwell (Lisa); grandchildren, Gracen and Catherine Pittard, Megan Harrell (David), Katelyn Hill (Tyler), Mackenzie and Tripp Caldwell; great-grandchildren, Zoe and Chase Harrell; and brothers, F.J., Wayne, and “Bib” Ervin (Denise).

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Fair View United Methodist Church. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery.
