Kathy Murphy, 63 of Olin, N.C., passed away January 27, 2021, at Iredell Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was born August 10, 1957, in Iredell County to the late Lonnie Allen Anderson and Hazel Fannie Spann Anderson. Kathy worked at Walmart for 28 years.

In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by one sister, Peggy Ann Anderson.

Kathy is survived by one daughter, Suzie Murphy, of the home; two brothers, Terry Anderson (Angela) and James Anderson and wife Linda, all of Statesville; one sister, Janet Webb, of the home; three grandchildren, Harley Coley (Jeff), Olivia Murphy and Cody Murphy, all of the home; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at Barker Grove Cemetery. Pastor Keith Stanley will officiate. There will be no formal visitation. Due to COVID-19, all CDC guidelines will be followed.

    No words can be said about Kathy except good ones. She was friendly, kind, caring, etc. But most of all, she was a Christian. She will be missed by her family and friends, but remember she is still in your heart. Our Thoughts and prayers are with all.

    I am so sorry to hear about my friend, Kathy! We worked together many years ago at the Statesville Walmart & have remained friends ever since & in more recent years on Facebook. We had so much fun working together & she had such a big heart & kind spirit. She will be missed by all who knew her!
