Mario “Nathan” Lopez, 17, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2021. He was born in Iredell County on July 7, 2004, to Mario Lopez-Flores and Ashley Elizabeth Beard Lopez.

Nathan loved music and listened to music 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. His favorite band was Queen. He enjoyed reading and building Gundams.

Nathan is survived by his mother, Ashley Lopez, and her husband, Jay Summerson, and his father, Mario Lopez Flores; step-sister, Mackenzie Kali Summerson; step-brother, Austin Benjamin Summerson; uncles, Alberto Lopez-Flores (Erica) and their children, Haiden and Havana, Rafeal Lopez-Flores, Bradley Beard (Jessica) and their children, Hailey, Taylor and Mason; aunts, Anai Lopez-Flores and Mireya Lopez-Flores; maternal grandmother, Brenda Reynolds (Eddie Wood); and paternal grandparents, Mario Lopez-Flores and Angeles Ramirez Flores.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 14, at 2 p.m. in the Mooresville High School Stadium off Magnolia Street. The service will be open to everyone in the community. If you have been touched by Nathan’s passing or been affected by Mental Illness, the family encourages you to attend.
