Rhonda Lazenby Painter, 58, of Statesville, N.C., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at Gordon Hospice House. Born in Dade County, Fla., on January 25, 1962, she was the daughter of the late Royce Lee Lazenby and Glenda Stamey Lazenby. She was raised in Gastonia, N.C.

Rhonda was very devoted to her family. She homeschooled her daughters for the majority of their education and was very active with Iredell County Home Educators, where she facilitated recreational activities for local homeschool children and families. Rhonda had a passion for dance and attended a dance school for a period of time. Her dream was to become a dance teacher. Rhonda loved the Lord and used her love of dance to facilitate a praise and worship dance group of which her daughters were heavily involved.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 35 years, Timothy Ruel Painter; daughters, Sara Beth Painter and Megan Painter Hasler (Daniel), all of Statesville; one sister, Denise Outen of Monroe, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, January 24, 2021, at 3 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Statesville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gordon Hospice House, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
