Anthony “Tony” Joseph D’Ambra, 93, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022, at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, N.C. He was born on May 1, 1929 in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Joseph and Mary Longo D’Ambra.

Mr. D’Ambra was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed horse racing and was an avid New York Yankees and Islanders fan. He loved his family and was a dedicated “family man.”

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank, Albert, and Robert D’Ambra.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Nora McNamara D’Ambra; children, Kathleen D’Ambra of Mooresville, N.C., Karl D’Ambra (Carmen) of Mooresville, N.C., and John D’Ambra (Darlene) of East Meadow, N.Y.; sister, Ann Bertolini of New Jersey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 18, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home with a memorial service following at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mark Lawlor officiating.
