Mrs. Blanche Borders, 88, of 2009 Scott Street, Statesville, N.C., was born in Lincolnton, N.C., on July 5, 1933, and was the daughter of the late George Washington Ikard and Eliza Jane Roseboro Ikard. She departed this life on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Accordius Health in Statesville, N.C.

She attended the Iredell County Schools and Highland Acreas Church of God. Blanch was a homemaker, and at one time she was employed by Eckerds Drug Store in the cafeteria. She was also employed by Bill and Elsie Moore, both of whom preceded her in death. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James “Stack” Borders; six children, Franklin “Hank” Borders, Charles Ikard, Samuel “Pete” Ikard, Bertrand Randy Borders, Janice Borders, and Rebecca Ikard; one granddaughter, LeNisha Ikard; two brothers, MJ Roseboro, and George Ikard Jr.; five sisters, Betty Jean Ikard Perry, Mary Catherine “Coot” Ikard, Sarah Byers, Georgia Ward, and Mattie Ruth Turner.

Blanch leaves to cherish the memories of her life, a loving daughter, Jennie Keaton; three sisters, Louise Tisdale, Mildred Pinchback, and Ida Mae Ikard Davis; one brother, James Ikard; nine grandchildren; 52 great grand grandchildren; 17 great great grandchildren; one great great great grandchild; special friends, Pat and Bill Moore; caregivers, Carol Linney and Geneva “GG” Glaspy, Frances Leazer, and Gail; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1 p.m. with burial in the Belmont Cemetery. Elder Wade Ikard will give the eulogy. and Pastor Tawanna Meyers will officiate.
