Brian Lewis Young, 52, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born on July 2, 1969, in Mooresville to Michael “Mike” Lewis Young and Faye Caldwell Young.

Brian loved his job in construction of new homes with his dad for over 40 years. He was a loving family man. He was a true outdoors man. He enjoyed fishing at Hatteras and hunting in Canada. He was a huge Lego collector and could build amazing things. Among his most wonderful traits, he was the family therapist, advice giver, life coach, babysitter, and a professional “Pops.” Brian could work on any thing that had an engine from trucks to four-wheelers and dirt bikes. He was a graduate of Mooresville High School and attended Rocky Mount Church.

In addition to his parents, Mike and Faye Young, Brian is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 37 years, Ginger Compton Young; children, Caleb Brian Young (Madison) and Brianna Young Sprinkle (Colton); grandchildren, Graysen, Aurley, Rynli and Jesse; brother, Jonathan Young (Stacie); father and mother-in-law, Buddy and Monte Compton; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Kelly Compton; sister-in-law, Lynette Bruton; nephews, Prath, Brett, Tyler, Curtis and Ethan; niece, Audrey; and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, June 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Heritage House of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. Services will be on Wednesday, June 15, at 11 a.m., also in the Heritage House of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home with Rev. Jamie Hamrick officiating.

Burial will follow the service in Glenwood Memorial Park.
