Eugene Harold Mallacoccio Jr., 63, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at the Gordon Hospice House. Born on September 22, 1958, in Elmira, N.Y., he was the son of the late Eugene Harold Mallacoccio Sr. and Mary Ellen Martin Mallacoccio.

Mr. Mallacoccio worked for over 30 years at Eaton, holding numerous positions from assembler to vacuum furnace operation. He retired to spend more time with his family, grandkids, and sons. He then moved to South Carolina and continued his occupation as a furnace technician for Technetics.

In addition to his parents, Eugene Harold Mallacoccio Sr. and Mary Ellen Martin Mallacoccio, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sheila Mallacoccio.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Geno Mallacoccio and wife Kristi Keller, and Anthony Mallacoccio and wife June Mallacoccio; daughter, Jessica Coates and husband Chris; grandchildren, Caleb and Charlotte Mallacoccio, and Allison and Mackson Coates; and his siblings, Kathy Mallacoccio, Steven Mallacoccio, Lisa Mallacoccio and Jamie Mallacoccio.

Originating from Elmira, N.Y., our father was widely known and beloved by many. From the corner store, workplace, practice fields, dugouts, or in the stands, all who interacted with him will remember him as a boisterous, lovable, approachable, and one with an unmatched swag.

A Celebration of Life to remember Mr. Mallacoccio will be held at a later date in his hometown.

My heart is with my family always. Jr. was one-of-a-kind. I’m so happy him and my brother, Jack Martin, got to spend a lot of time together when he first went down South. I could see how happy they both were. R.I.P., Eugene. Gone but you will never be forgotten. Love, your cousin Angel
