Fred Marvin Bowlin Jr., 74, of Davidson, N.C., passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at his residence. Born June 10, 1948, in Kannapolis, N.C., he was a son of the late Fred Marvin Bowlin Sr. and Emma Lowder Bowlin.

Mr. Bowlin was a retired supervisor for Overnite Transportation. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Bowlin was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, Mooresville, where he served as a Deacon. He enjoyed working in their kitchen for special events and helping with supplies. Mr. Bowlin also enjoyed fishing, gardening, animals and working on his farm. His favorite scripture he would like to share with all would be, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

He is survived by his wife, Diane Peterson Bowlin; son, Shane Michael Bowlin; sister, Vicky Clarke (Niel); granddaughter, Emma Elizabeth Bowlin; uncle, David “Bo” Bowlin; and niece, Sherrie Carlisle.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2022, at Liberty Baptist Church, Mooresville, with Rev. Eddie Graham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
