Joseph Edwin Mowbray, 50, of Statesville, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at his home. Born on November 26, 1971, in Rowan County, N.C., he was the son of the late James Edwin Mowbray and Phyllis Ann Rogers Mowbray.
Joe was the owner of Joe Mowbray Flooring Inc. He enjoyed golfing when he was able to and had a love and passion for “grilling” with family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 28 years, Kimberly Johnson Mowbray; his children, Wilson Edwin Mowbray and Mary Cartha Mowbray; his brother, Jon Mowbray; his brother-in-law, Bradley Luther Johnson; several nieces and nephews; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gary and Linda Johnson.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Nicholson Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Joe’s life will be held at a later date.

I was shocked and heartbroken to hear this. Joe was one of a kind. He had a good heart and a great personality. He helped my Mom with several projects and that is how I got to know him. Then he helped me through the yeas. Joe will be missed!
Roger and I are so sad to hear of Joe’s passing. Our thoughts are with Kim and Joe’s family. We would love to come celebrate his life.
