Lois Benge Edwards Floyd, 94, of Statesville, N.C., passed away Friday, September 30, 2022, at the Gordon Hospice House.

Lois was born June 16, 1928, in Thomasville, N.C., and was the daughter of the late Earl and Bertha Moore Benge. She attended Iredell County schools and retired from Hunt Manufacturing. She was a member of Ostwalt Baptist Church since the late 1950s, where she worked with the Primary Sunday School class and rocked babies in the nursey for over 30 years.

She is survived by two children, Gary Edwards (Christine) and Vicki E. Stewart (Dennis); seven grandchildren, Lori Edwards, Angela Frye, Julie Bradley, David Johnson, Steven Edwards, Christina Long, and Shannon Johnson; 15 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, “one of her girls”, Julia Harris; one sister, Wynette Sizemore; and two brothers, Ralph and Clifton Benge (Barbara).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three children, Shelia E. Johnson, and Emory and Michael Edwards; one grandson, Jeffery Edwards: three brothers, Carl, Dwight and Clay Benge; and three sisters, Sadie Dillard, Earlene Green and Lou Shaver.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 7, at Ostwalt Baptist Church with Rev. Wesley Morris officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at Ostwalt Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
