Melissa Beatty Chambers, 88, of Statesville, N.C., passed away peacefully at home under hospice care surrounded by her loving family on November 24, 2022. Melissa was born on October 30, 1934, in Cook County, Ill., to the late Elda and Howard Beatty.

Also predeceasing her were her sister Judith Reilly, brother Peter Beatty, and loving husband of 51 years James Carlton Chambers.

She is survived by her devoted children, Lynn C. Bentley (Dean), Kim B. Postlewaite, and James M. Chambers (Darlene). Also surviving are her eight grandchildren, Misty Haire (Nick), Michael Postlewaite (Carrie), Justin Latham (Amelia), Heather Chambers, Shannon Minecci (Angelo), Thomas Chambers, Tanner Bentley (Jessica), and Tate Bentley; and seven great grandchildren, Mason, Jaxon, and Ayden Minecci, Avery Postlewaite, Reagan and Case Latham, and baby Bentley (on the way); nieces, Maureen Fletcher (Rock), their daughters Nikii (Kyle) and Amber, Shannon Reilly, her son Jake, and nephew Shane Reilly (Nicole) and their daughter Olivia.

Melissa enjoyed spending time with family, and her church, Forest Park Presbyterian Church. She loved cross stitching, sewing, and especially loved reading and writing Poetry.

Memorial Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Forest Park Presbyterian Church, 1026 Davie Avenue, Statesville, NC 28677 with Rev Walter Scott Jeffreys officiating.
