Roman Duski was born in Koscierzyna, Poland, on September 28, 1939. He was the fifth of six children born to Jan and Franciszka Duski. He was raised as a devoted Catholic. Roman spent his working years in Poland managing residential construction sites and a building materials manufacturing plant. In 1996, Roman along with his wife, Danuta, moved to Connecticut, to be closer to their only son, Tomasz, and his family. More recently, during summer 2020 they once again followed the immediate family, moving to Mooresville, N.C.

Roman had an analytical and technical mind. He was a long-term friend to many, and he always enjoyed insightful conversations on a variety of topics. Whenever asked, he has been able to provide sound advice to others. He loved playing bridge and solving countless crossword puzzles. He was passionate about following all sports, from European football (or soccer) to American football and baseball.

Roman was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He always placed family values as the most important and supported unconditionally his son’s and grandchildren’s pursuit of their academic and professional goals.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Danuta; son, Tomasz Duski (Vicki); grandchildren, Stephanie and Michael Duski; and sister, Janina Rogaczewska.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Cavin-Cook Funeral Home & Crematory, Mooresville, is serving the Duski family. Condolences may be made to the family at www.cavin-cook.com.
