Stephen Clyde Perry of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022. Mr. Perry was born on October 21, 1957, to Clyde and Peggy Perry.

He leaves behind his wife, Jennifer; daughters, Stephanie Wix (James), and Julie Summers (DJ); stepson, William Foust; stepdaughter, Casey Hardin (Tim); and nine grandchildren.

Steve will be remembered for his love and dedication as a beloved husband, father, and pappy, for those who loved him. Steve was a retired transfer truck driver, having driven for over 40 years, and retired from Shaver Wood Products. He attended Piedmont College of Theology, earning his certificate in Biblical Studies. Steve was also an ordained minister, but most will remember him as leading them to Christ in song and prayer.

Steve Perry was a valued member of the Cool Springs Ruritan Club and the Elmwood Community. He never met a stranger and was always there for anyone who needed him. He will be sorely missed by friends, family, those he loved and the strangers he never met.

A Celebration of his Life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023, at New Salem United Methodist Church with Pastor Todd McCullough, Pastor James Hunter, and Pastor Zack Sizemore officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.donate3.cancer.org. or to the charity of one’s choice. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.nicholsonfunerals.com.
