Timothy “Scott” Nantz, 55, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at Novant Health Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, N.C.

He was born on September 9, 1966 in Mooresville to the late Joe and Ann Carver Nantz. Scott was an accomplished plumber and was employed with Denver Plumbing. He was an avid (and vocal) NASCAR fan and a huge Carolina Panther football and Duke University follower. He loved 4-wheeling and all types of water sports with his wife and family. Scott was always available to anyone needing help. He loved life and left us all much too soon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jeff Nantz; nephew, Jake Catledge; and niece, Nicole Catledge.

Scott is survived by the love of his life, Dee Nantz. They were married 22 years. They raised and loved their two Great Danes and one cat.

He had a large loving family. He is survived by sisters, Donna Catledge and Wanda McKenzie (Keith); nephews, Matt McKenzie (Brooke), David McKenzie (Samantha), and Luke McKenzie (Cait). These nephews provided Scott with Taylor, Garrett, Madi, and Lemley. He often bragged and always adored his family. Additional surviving family include nephew, Steven Haynes Hargett (Michael); and niece, Amanda Spencer (Zach) and their children, Addie, Brayden, Colin, and Drake.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 15, from 3 to 4 p.m. with a service following at 4 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lake Norman Humane, PO Box 3937, Mooresville, NC 28117 or Stand For Animals – Lake Norman, 2714 Charlotte Highway, Mooresville, NC 28117.
