On Friday, February 25, 2022, Violet McCoy went to join the Lord peacefully in her home after a strong battle against cancer. She was a native of Statesville, N.C., born on July 9, 1939, to Julia Ann Pearce and Robert Lee Pearce, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her children, Tommy Dale Evans of Statesville and Lisa Ann Evans of State College, Pa., granddaughters, Violet Michelle Duke Myers of Cleveland, and Hailey Phillips and her wife Kali of Pleasant Gap, Pa., great-grandchildren, Devin Lynn Alspaugh, Aleigha Myers, and Brandon Myers, and Shyleigh Williams; and great, great-grandchildren, Jaylen Alspaugh, and Allie Gibson; two sisters, Geraldine Curtis of Mooresville and Christine Wyckoff of Hickory; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her sister, Shelby Williams; brother, Edward Pearce; daughter, Sandra Campbell; granddaughter, Ashley Evans; grandson, Jesse Evans; and great-grandson, Justin Alspaugh.

She was a fighter and a hard-working woman who left a piece of herself in every life she touched. She has influenced many young lives and will be missed dearly. You are loved every day. Your wings were ready, but our hearts were not. Rest in Paradise.
