Christine “Chrisy” Marie Plotkin, 66, of Cleveland, N.C., and formerly of New York, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C. She was born September 24, 1957, in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of the late Santo and Christine Tornello.

Outgoing by nature, Chrisy never met a stranger. She relished time spent entertaining family and friends, always ready to comfort a friend in need. Chrisy truly had a heart of gold, always looking out for others, lending a listening ear or her arms for a hug. Throughout her life, she consistently put the needs of those she cared about before her own.

Most important to her was her family, and she will forever be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.

She leaves a lasting legacy to be cherished by her survivors, her husband of 38 years, Richard Plotkin; son, Michael Plotkin of Cleveland, N.C.; sister, Rosemarie DiRaffaele and husban Tony of Statesville, N.C.; nieces, Lisa Moore and husband Jordan of Statesville, N.C., Elena Kubica and husband Keith of Portland, Conn., and Rianna DiRaffaele of Statesville, N.C.; nephews, Mark Fernandez of Newport News, Va., and John Fernandez of Statesville, N.C.; great-nephew, Connor Moore; great-niece, Alex Moore; loving pet, Snow; and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home in Mooresville, N.C. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2023, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, immediately to be followed by a committal service at Cleveland Town Cemetery in Cleveland, N.C.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to all the ICU nurses, physicians and staff at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America.
