Mr. James S. Daye, 58, was born in Jamaica Queens, N.Y., on April 17, 1965, to the late Harold Theodore Daye and Clara Bell Rucker Daye. He departed this life on Monday, August 14, 2023, at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.

James attended John Adams High School in Queens, N.Y. He was affectionately known by his family and friends as “Goldie.” James was employed by Snyder Electric Company of Salisbury, N.C., where he was an electrician. He was a devoted member of Victory Church of God Ministries of Cooleemee, N.C. He served as a Bishop and Pastor of Church for seven years. He was also a part of Helping Ministries Giving.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Cathy Daye; and his half-sister, Cynthia Parker.

He Leaves to cherish the memory of his life his wife, Eve Ann Hill Daye; children, Kaceen Mosley of Alabama, Tamika Hill of Lexington, Evelyn Mosley of Alabama, and Jamie Houston of Statesville, Mokis Daye of Lexington, and Geneva Daye of Lexington; grandchildren, Khalani Daye, Kamari Daye, Keyonai Williams, Keyshawn Williams, Tateyana Mosley, and Levi Moore; siblings, Fredrick Theodore (Vernell) Daye, Cathy Marie Daye, Carol Ann (Bernard) Jamison, Clifford Dwayne (Melissa) Daye, Michelle Renee (John) Byurd, Mahalia Shani Washington, and Ronald Lee (Elisha) Washington; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family, and friends.

A Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 2 p.m. Bishop Reginald Long will be delivering the eulogy. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church and burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery.
