Mr. Jimmy Lee Dalton, 78, was born in Iredell County, N.C., on February 28, 1945, to the late Barney Lee Dalton and Effie Dalton. He departed this life on Monday, October 2, 2023.

Jimmy graduated from Unity High School and was employed by R & M Brewery as a forklift operator prior to his retirement in 2007. He was affectionately known as “Jim” by his family and friends. His hobbies included fishing, sports, drag racing, and traveling. He especially loved football and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Jim was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Dalton; and his sister, Abby Redmon.

He leaves to cherish the memory of his life his wife, Audrey Lavette Graham Dalton of the home; children, Tammy (Brad) Bennett, Charlie Dalton, Timothy Dalton, and Shanika (Abel) Gerrano, all of Statesville, and Belinda Dalton of Colorado; three brothers, Johnny (Estella) Dalton, and William Lynn (Brenda) Dalton, both of Harmony, and Renard (Diane) Dalton of Statesville; six sisters, Dorothy Lackey, and Ann Morrison both of Statesville, Jeannie Clemment of Mocksville, Marcell (William) James of Harmony, Mary (Ray) Campbell of Greensboro, and Judy Williams of Mocksville; brothers-in-law, Ivory (Chanika) Graham of Troutman, and Marcus Graham of Statesville; sisters-in-law, Sharon (Frankie) Little, Stephanie Graham, and Duane (Angie) Graham, all of Statesville of Statesville, Renee Graham of Mooresville; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and friends.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 12 noon at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Hamptonville, N.C. Ray Campbell will be officiating the service.
