Kim Thomas Purcell, 78, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023. He was born on June 19, 1944, in Pasadena, Calif., to the late Francis and Barbara Kern Purcell.

Kim was a loving husband to his wife Gail and a loving father and grandfather. Kim was a devout Christian who spent his retirement years living out his faith and the love of Jesus through his service to the Church. Kim served with Samaritan’s Purse, going on over 10 separate mission trips. Kim was also a chartering member of New Hope Lutheran Church, where he faithfully attended and actively served. Kim shared the love of Jesus with others by serving in any way that he could. Kim’s faith and his family were the top two priorities in his life, and behind that was his love for both fishing and golf.

Kim will be greatly missed by those he is survived by his loving wife, Gail Purcell; children, Shawn Purcell, Brian Purcell (Kelly), and Kevin Purcell (Pamela); stepchildren, April Hecht, Eric Hecht (Leslie), and Jennifer Arledge (Derrick); sisters, Patricia Harvy (Harold), and Diane Kohut (Stephen); grandchildren, Corinne Purcell, Ashley Purcell, Ryan Purcell, Julia Purcell, Sean Purcell, Eva Hecht, Baker Hecht, Marguerite Hecht, Bryson Arledge and Cooper Arledge.
