Mrs. Louise Edith Reid Bradshaw, 102, was born in Iredell County, N.C., on May 16, 1921, to the late Joe Reid and Edna Longcrier Reid. She departed this life on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Cadence Assisted Living, Clemmons, N.C.

Louise attended Iredell County Schools and graduated from Morningside High School. After graduation, she attended Bennett College and then went on to earn her Master’s Degree from A & T State University. She was employed as a teacher with the Iredell County School System, where she taught English and Drama to grades 9-12. She was a lifelong member of Scott’s Chapel United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Colvert Bradshaw; and one brother, James Onslow Reid.

She leaves to cherish the memory of her life one daughter, Cassandra Louise Bradshaw O’Neal of Durham, N.C.; two grandchildren, Eric Colvert (Margie) O’Neal of Statesville, N.C., and Brian Travis O’Neal of Raleigh, N.C.; two great-grandchildren, DaNajah Renae O’Neal and Aseelah Renee O’Neal, both of Winston-Salem, N.C.; former son-in-law, Everett Lee O’Neal of Winston-Salem, N.C.; a favorite dog, “Knuckles;” and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, church family, and friends.

Celebration of Life services will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, Statesville, N.C. on Monday, June 5, 2023, at 1 p.m. Visitation will be from 12 to 1 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery, Statesville, N.C.
