Ms. Mary Brawley, 83, was born in Catawba County, N.C., on December 21, 1939, to the late Commodore Curlee Ramseur and Annie Mae Nichols Ramseur. She departed this life on Thursday, June 15, 2023.

Annie attended Catawba County Schools and at one time worked in private homes as a domestic worker. She was a member of the Mount Moriah Church in Mooresville, N.C. Annie enjoyed cooking and going fishing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Ernest Lee Brawley; a daughter, Priscilla Anne Ramseur Bowie; two brothers, James Ramseur, and Glen Ramseur; three sisters, Evelyn Lillie Ramseur, Ann Lackey, and Annette Pedroza; a grandson, Rayford Allen Ramseur; and her brother-in-law, Paul Leach.

She leaves to cherish the memory of her life one son, Clifford (Cheryl-Caregiver) Ramseur of Statesville; one daughter, Judy Tawanda Ramseur; one step son, Michael Young of Troutman; four sisters, Bettie Louise Leach of Troutman, Dottie Mae Patterson of Patterson, N.J., Sue Ramseur of Statesville, and Frances G. Ramseur of Troutman; one sister-in-law, Annie Mae Brawley; two brothers-in-law, Mitchell Brawley, and Frank Pedroza; ten grandchildren, Alice Ramseur, Richard Ramseur, Myisha Ramseur, Toya Ramseur, Montresha Ramsey, Clifford Ramseur Jr., Cheryl Ramseur, Tracy Ramseur, Amelia Martin, and Johnny Rozier; special friends, Net Fracier, Jerry Propst, Lula Simpson, and Debra Gonzolas; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family, and friends.

Celebration of Life services will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Rutledge and Bigham Mortuary, Statesville, N.C. at 1 p.m. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Bishop Terry Cherry will be officiating the service and burial will follow in the Bibleway #6 Church Cemetery, Troutman, N.C.
