Ronald Edward Coulter, 87 of Troutman, N.C., passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023.

Mr. Coulter was born November 17, 1935, in Casey County, Ky. He was the son of the late James Christopher Coulter and Anna Elizabeth Settles Coulter. He was a graduate of Western Kentucky University and a member of the Thirteeners Fraternity. In 1957 he married his beloved wife Shirley Shields Coulter, who survives. Ron made a career as a salesman in the Marine Industry and was a member of Western Avenue Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved boating, hunting, competition shooting and was a member of the Duck Creek Gun Club. But, above all, Ron loved his family.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his brother, James Milton Coulter.

Those left to cherish the life and legacy of Ron Coulter include his wife of 66 years, Shirley Coulter; his daughter, Ronna Coulter Keeter (Chris); his grandchildren, Jacob Campbell (Elizabeth) and Meghan Campbell (George); four great grandchildren, Aden, David, Adrian, and Lucas; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends from 12 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at Troutman Funeral Home. A funeral service with military honors will be conducted at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Jeff Spry will officiate.
