Charles “Gene” Eugene Holland, 86, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024. He was born on March 5, 1938, in McDowell County, N.C., to the late Howard and Alma Morgan Holland.

Gene was a member of The Bridge Church of the Nazarene in Mooresville and enjoyed collecting antique cars, coins, stamps, vintage dishes, and guns. He loved his family and will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lee Roy Holland, and sister-in-law, Pat Holland.

Those left to cherish Gene’s memory are his loving wife of 24 years, Deborah Bailey Holland; stepson, James; stepdaughter, Blair; nephews, Mike Holland (Tricia) and Tim Holland (Cindy); great nephews, Benjamin and Jordan Holland; great nieces, Kaylin Brewer, Alyssa Holland; great-great nephews, Sawyer, Bentley and Tatum Holland; great-great niece, Alorah Holland; brother-in-law, Robert Bailey; sister-in-law, Nona Sowell and her sons, John Sowell (Jan) and Mark Sowell (Robin) and daughter, Berkey Savage (Jason); sister-in-law, Kim Jordan and her daughter, Bailey Wilkes (Jason) and their daughters, Bowman and Price; great nieces, Emery, Meritt; and special cousins, Rhonda Leigh Shanks of Afton, Ten.., John B. Gray and Laura “Sissy” Gray.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2024, at the chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville with Rev. Jerry Bonfiglio and Rev. Mark Pitts officiating.

Burial will follow the service at Glenwood Memorial Park, Mooresville. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
