
Mrs. Mae Louise Dunlap Ramseur passed away unexpectedly at her home on May 24, 2026. She was born in Iredell County to the late Paul Andy Macy Dunlap and the late Mildred Louise Morrison Dunlap on July 20, 1949.
She attended and graduated from Unity High School with the Class of 1967. She was employed at Hunt’s Manufacturer until she retired, which was known as Speedball Art. She was a volunteer at Iredell Memorial Hospital as a Pink Lady. She was a lifelong member of Logan Presbyterian Church in Scotts, N.C., where she was a member of the choir and the usher board, Progressive Women’s Club and a lifelong member of the NAACP. She was known for cooking and spending time with her family and for Spades parties. She was married to the late Ernest Wayne Ramseur I on July 27,1968. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and one brother, Dwight Eugene Dunlap.
She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Ernest Wayne Ramseur II of Statesville, N.C., and Andre’ Maurice Ramseur (Dawn) of Fayetteville, N.C.; a sister, Brenda Dunlap Wilson (Roy) of Statesville, N.C.; two sisters-in-law, Betty Quintero-Soto of Statesville, N.C., and Shari Ramsey; one brother-in-law, Alan Christopher (Alice) Ramseur I of Hollywood, Fla.; six grandchildren, De Andre’ McGee, Kenyal Ramseur, Khailee Ramseur, Khandi Ramseur, Ernest Wayne Ramseur III and Evan Ramseur; 11 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be conducted on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Logan Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. Mrs. Ramseur will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral until taken to the church to lie in state at 10:30 a.m.
