To the Editor:

Primary election day will be here on Tuesday, March 3, and I would like to urge you to vote for my friend and legislative colleague, Craig Horn, for Superintendent of Public Instruction.

A proper and well-rounded education is essential for the citizens of North Carolina and for the future of our state. Craig Horn has proven to be an education champion during his five terms in the N.C. House serving as chair of the Education Appropriations, Education K-12 and the Joint Education Oversight Committees. He has also continually traveled our state and country visiting school districts, community colleges and universities, meeting with students, teachers, principals, parents, professors, chancellors and a vast list of education consultants and leaders. In short, he has listened and put in the time to know what is required for a proper and well-rounded education and how to do it.

Additionally, Craig is a N.C. Commissioner to the Education Commission of the States, an Early Learning Fellow at the National Conference of State Legislatures, has been named the “Education Legislator” by EdNC and was awarded a Doctorate of Humane Letters by Wingate University for his work in education.

All the above educational experience and a very successful, long-time business career means Craig brings the complete package of necessary skills to move our schools forward and manage them professionally and efficiently. I am convinced he is absolutely the right person for the education challenges we encounter today and will face going forward.
