Thirty-seven offenders, including a man convicted of murder, returned to Iredell County after being released from the N.C. Department of Corrections.

Fourteen of the offenders completed their sentences, according to the N.C. Department of Public Safety. The other 23 were released early.

Convicted killer George Z. Rivers, 44, was paroled on February 5. He was convicted of second-degree murder in Iredell County on March 21, 2001, and ordered to serve between 19 years and nine months and 24 years and six months in prison.

Rivers will be on supervised parole until November 1.

The following offenders returned to Iredell County in February:

Jabriaun Anderson, 29, convicted of credit card theft. Completed sentence.

Justin M. Burton, 31, convicted of attempted speeding to elude arrest. Completed sentence.

Stanley D. Cass, 74, convicted of malicious conduct by a prisoner. Released on parole.

Lisa A. Evans, 52, convicted of selling a schedule II controlled substance. Released on parole.

Erik T. Gassner, 35, convicted of possession with intent to sell a schedule III controlled substance. Completed sentence.

Brandon D. McCoy, 34, convicted of stalking. Completed sentence.

Manuel Cortez-Barrera, 27, convicted of level 4 DWI. Completed sentence.

Christopher T. Matheny, 45, convicted of obtaining property by false pretenses. Completed sentence.

Virginia P. Reid, 40, convicted of selling a schedule II controlled substance. Completed sentence.

George Z. Rivers, 44, convicted of second-degree murder. Released on parole.
