The Statesville Woman’s Club held a Health & Wellness Fair during its November meeting. Members and their guests visited stations devoted to skin pampering; blood pressure, heart and oxygen checks; yoga; nutrition and wellness info; stress relief; and Zen organization techniques; along with healthy snacks.

Rockin’ the Holidays event

The club will hold a “Rockin’ the Holidays” Rock Painting event at the historic clubhouse on Thursday, November 30. Drop in from 5:30 to 7 p.m. to paint festive holiday and winter designs on small rocks for the Kindness Rock Garden at Pecan Park. While painting rocks, members and guests will have a chance to enjoy light refreshments and learn more about the club. Invite a friend and join us for this relaxing event. December Potluck

The next club meeting will be the Holiday Potluck Luncheon on Thursday, December 7, at the historic clubhouse located at 515 West End Avenue. There will be a time of Fellowship at 11:30 a.m. and a meal at 12 noon. Reservations are requested for an adequate head count by Sunday, December 2, at 6 p.m. Contact Second Vice President Wanda Rushton at 704-450-4122. All members, guests and interested women are invited to attend.

The program will be a time of fun, games, music and signing Christmas cards for veterans. The project focus for December will be collecting unwrapped toys to help children in need in the community this Christmas. Gifts are requested to be brought to the clubhouse at the December Luncheon. Ideas include board games, cards, travel games, puzzles, books, stuffed animals, action figures, dolls, toy cars, or sports-related items (like soccer, footballs or basketballs, which should be deflated ahead of time).
