Ina Harris Martin, 85, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center in Mooresville.

She was born on July 22, 1934, in Iredell County, N.C., to the late Thomas and Gladys Hager Harris. Mrs. Martin grew up on a dairy farm and was a proud farm girl. She worked at Templon Mill and later retired from Davidson College in dining services. She was a member of Shearer Presbyterian Church and was a founding member of Faith Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Martin loved quilting, playing the spoons, gospel music, Braves baseball, and was known for her ham biscuits. She loved her grandchildren and watching them play sports.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Abbott Martin; sisters, Jean Hayer and Mary Louise Karriker; and brothers, Jay Frank Harris and David Harris.

She is survived by her children, G.A. Martin Jr., Glenda Cheney, Wayne Martin (Alison), and GayGayle Daily; grandchildren, Kristie Baldwin (Chuck), Brooke Macapagal (Arvic), Bailey Martin, Cheznee Daily, and Nikki Daily; and great grandchildren, Maison Cash and Gracie Baldwin.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 10, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a service following at 1 p.m. at Shearer Presbyterian Church with Rev. Stephen Stout officiating. Burial will follow the service at Glenwood Memorial Park in Mooresville.
