R.B. Miller Jr., 87, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2021, at his residence. He was born on January 24, 1934, in Mooresville to the late Roby and Ollie Story Miller.

Mr. Miller was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He retired from Burlington Mills after many years. Mr. Miller received his associates degree in Business Management Administration from Mitchell College. He was an active member of Shearer Presbyterian Church in Mooresville, where he served as an Elder Emeritus and a Sunday School teacher. His passion was being a witness for the Lord. He loved going on church trips, family vacations, including the beach and Gatlinburg, go-cart racing, and boxer dogs. He also loved mowing with his riding mower, which he continued to do until this last year. Mr. Miller enjoyed working on his cars and was a Chevy man. He loved to talk and socialize and would help anyone that he could. He ate at What-A-Burger every day and will be missed deeply by his What-A-Burger family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Overcash Miller; brother, Billy Miller; and sister, Nancy Mayhew.

He is survived by his sister, JoAnn Gamble; brother, Archie Miller; niece, Brenda Clontz; nephew, Darell Mayhew; Jennifer Small (Ronnie); whom he thought of as his grandchildren, Savannah, Christian, Caden, Ronald Jr., Khloe, Gigi, LeeLee, and Kobe; his beloved fur baby, Millie Miller; and many extended family members whom he loved and who loved him.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, at Shearer Presbyterian Church with Rev. Stephen Stout officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. COVID guidelines will be followed; please wear a face covering and social distance.
