Thomas “Tommy” Newton Brown, 63, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Friday, July 15, 2022, in his home. He was born on August 21, 1958, to David and Mafielda Brown.

Tommy graduated from Statesville High School with a golf scholarship to Gardner Webb University. After college, he pursued his career in the golf industry for most of his life. He was also an avid outdoorsman and loved sharing his passion for the outdoors with his children and grandson. Tommy was proceeded in death by his parents, David and Mafielda Brown.

As his Food Lion family likes to say, “Tommy Brown made a difference!”

I worked with Tommy at Biltmore Forest Country Club. He was a dear friend. Fun to be around. The world needs more Tommys. I am so saddened by his death. My heart goes out to all his family.
