William Anthony Adams, known by friends and family as Tony, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 29, 2023. Tony was born on August 9, 1982, in New York.

He attended and graduated from the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School District. Tony later attended Bryant and Stratton College. Since 2008 Tony and his family have resided in North Carolina.

Tony was predeceased by his Uncle Kevin; and by his grandparents, Robert and Pearl Clark, and William and Nancy Adams.

Tony leaves behind his wife, Rachael (Block) Adams; his two children, Peyton and Chase; and his mother and father, Crystal (Clark) Adams and Bill Adams. Tony also leaves behind many close family members, and his three best friends, Shawn Clark, Travis Greenlee and Tyler Greenlee.

While growing up, Tony attended the Colosse Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church of Mexico. In recent years, Tony was blessed and ministered to by the online ministry of Elevation Church.

Tony’s love for his family and friends and contagious humor will live on in the many memories and stories created through the years. His heart for his family, and their faith, and eternity were utmost on his mind during his final days. He also spent much time expressing his appreciation and love for those closest to him. Tony fought hard to stay on this earth longer with his family but finally lost his battle with liver and kidney disease.

Countless thanks go out to the staff at Atrium Health Cabarrus ICU and to the 3rd floor staff. They went above and beyond their duties to not only care for Tony, but also to show love and compassion to him and to those by his bedside during his final days.

In true Tony fashion, he did not want a funeral, but rather a celebration of life. The family will gather on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at the Cool Spring Ruritan Club, 1414 Old Mocksville Road, Statesville, from 1 until 3 p.m. Friends and family are welcome to join in this celebration.

Tony was very thankful for the blood he received from generous donors during the course of his illness. So, in lieu of flowers, monetary donations and blood donations are asked to be given to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37839, Boone, IA 50037, to help others as he was helped.
