I am writing to share the news of the passing of my beloved wife, Cheryl Lynn Coughlin, who passed away on April 20 2026 at the age of 68.
Cheryl Crismore was born on January 20, 1958, in Peoria, Ill. She was known for her zest for life, looking for the good in everyone. She lifted up all who knew her, and she touched many lives throughout her journey. If you knew her, you were family, and there was nothing she would not do for you. I was lucky to make her my bride 40 years ago; her heart was so full of love and a giving spirit. She loved her time working with the kids at Langtree Charter school.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Crismore; son, Joseph Basil Coughlin; and parents, Basil and Rosemary Crismore.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Coughlin; son, Daniel James Coughlin; daughter, Amanda Marie Brinkley. Sarah Elizabeth Coughlin, Theresa and Mike Vandiver, Mike and Debbie Crismore, Patricia and TJ Spohnholtz, Janet and Sunny Afzelius; grandchildren, Rubilynn Rose Coughlin, Anson Brinkley, Adelaide Brinkley, Alden Brinkley, and Hazel Rae Coughlin; and a list of Family and Friends.
Visitation to honor her life will be held on April 26, 2026, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. at 494 East Plaza Drive Mooresville NC 28115.
Funeral Mass will be on Monday April 27, 2026, at 11 a.m. at St Therese Catholic Church, 217 Brawley School Church Road, Mooresville NC 28117.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Horse Protection Society of NC, 2135 Miller Road, China Grove, NC 28023 (horseprotection.org).
Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, is proudly serving the Coughlin family.
