Statesville native Dani Kerr performed live on “America’s Got Talent” on Tuesday night.

FROM STAFF REPORTS

Following a pair of performances that won hearts here at home and across the country, Statesville musician Dani Kerr was eliminated from “America’s Got Talent” during a live show Wednesday night.

Of the 11 competitors in Kerr’s group, only two were selected to continue to the final round. Unfortunately, Kerr was the first contestant to be eliminated during Wednesday’s live show.

But local fans of Kerr’s soulful sound won’t have long to wait to see her perform — she is scheduled to take the stage with her band, The Skeleton Krew, on Saturday at 8 p.m. at Backstage in the Grove.

“Hope it feels damn good to have TWO prime-time performances in the bag! Proud of you and no matter what happens, this is just the beginning,” one supporter shared on Kerr’s social media.

“You made Statesville proud!!!!! Great job,” another supporter wrote.

Kerr’s audition for the show aired on June 20, when she was selected to continue to the second round. She then performed Tuesday night and faced a vote by viewers to make it to the finals.
